In , located in Alania (Turkey), provided us excursion services among which there was a six-hour trip by bus in Western to Anatoly (19 km to the North from the city of Denizli). We learned that this excursion is in great demand and with interest were going to see personally the painted guide of a charm of this edge containing some miracles of the nature and archeological finds. On the InfoAdvisor.net pages I will describe those interesting places which witness was personally.
The trip was in the comfortable bus softening a thirty-five-degree heat with the good conditioner excluding casual blowing off of the person and neck, so a trip as in the beginning it was expected, was not tiresome.
Our way lay on the mountain roads winding on slopes and breaks of a relief. In one place we stopped in cozy cafe where to us suggested to have a bite taken tormozky which on Turkish cuisine providently collected for this trip. Besides, it was possible to try tasty tea with herbs, a lemon on a choice and east sweets.
Pamukkale – the small village near which there is one of natural miracles of Turkey. We saw it from far away, still being in the bus, on turn of the mountain road. I did not even understand that I see, such impression as if the huge, fancifully issued, white-blue mass of snow and ice fell to the green hill or the mountain, and that on such heat everything will thaw soon.
As we were told by the guide, in translation from Turkish the word "Pamukkale" is meant by the "Cotton fortress", it represents system of thermal sources with a large number and the various size the "bathtubs" filled with healing water. are called as travertines, their depth small, it is possible to enter it, to popleskatsya or lay down so that it covered you with water.
InfoAdvisor.net will explain the nature of this phenomenon: here throughout a long time from crevices of hills the hot mineral springs containing compounds of calcium and hydrogen sulfide escaped, and all their surface was covered with a limy raid, forming unique white travertines. Overflow of bathtubs created one more tremendous phenomenon: mineral water, flowing down from edges, gradually stiffened in the form of white wavy and sharp outgrowths – stalakit which in beams of the sun played all imaginable shades.
This megacomplex of outgrowths and bathtubs was presented by locals in the form of huge cotton plantations, from where and the name went.
We poured out from the bus, and, having received instructions to remove footwear at an entrance to this place, directed to a miracle. I managed to make the camera some pictures, but not without risk for life as places it was very slippery, despite a hilly surface.
Having much admired a look, through small transition got to Cleopatra's pool.
This next miracle in the form of the small thermal pool with warm, in 36 degrees, mineral water blew my mind. The entrance paid, at the time of our visit made 20 dollars from the person.
When I went down, carefully holding hand-rail, on a stony bottom, thousands of needles stuck into my body, and I all became covered by vials of air. Feelings simply inexpressible!
The bottom which is generously covered with huge stones, remains of the columns surrounding earlier the pool so if someone from readers of InfoAdvisor.net will happen to visit this place is accurately visible, I advise to get over on the pool carefully. Stones were covered with the greenish raid containing group of lichens and mokhoobrazny. Fragments of columns in places kept the characteristic relief and, looking at them, it was mentally possible to present their initial magnificence. The pool is divided into small part and deeper as we were told, to 5 meters, at edges of a board auxiliary support ropes were stretched.
As the fan of extreme sports, I overcame small part and through an arch floated in other part with good depth. Water density improbable, holds you afloat! Some tourists tried to dive up to the depth. Observed how one of them, with great difficulty clinging to stony and grass edge of a board, tried to fall by a bottom. Pressure force did not allow it to make it and, otfyrkivayas, it emerged upward. I too decided to try, but at a depth in half-meter felt strong weight in the head and pressure upon eyes so it was necessary to refuse unsafe attempts.
From our guide heard an ancient legend of the queen Cleopatra which personally used this pool as means for preservation of the youth and appeal. And, really, having much swum for a while, I felt ease in all body and unprecedented cheerfulness. Except the rejuvenating and invigorating effect this mineral water is very useful to prevention of skin, nervous, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and other diseases. No wonder that popularity of the pool of Cleopatra does not decrease.
Here it was possible to gather mineral water in small bottles that we also made.
Near the pool there is a number of little shops in which it is possible to get various souvenirs in memory of this place, and also in addition to have a bite and satisfy thirst with freshly squeezed juice.
In 2 hours our excursion proceeded: we by our bus went to ruins of the antique city of Hierapolis founded in 190 B.C.
From Pamukkale to it about 5 km. Such sights as Apollo's temple, the Roman amphitheater, the City of the Dead did not leave indifferent none of us. All of us actively photographed and posed on a unique background of these monuments of former culture.
The separate word is deserved by the City of the Dead (Necropolis)
which stores the decayed ashes of people of different estates since antique times for a long time.
These people were patients who hoped for curative properties of thermal sources of Pamukkale and came from different places here. Someone came back cured, and someone, without having received simplification, ended the days here and was buried according to traditions of the people. Therefore in the City of the Dead it is possible to meet the most different funeral constructions: massive sarcophagi, graves of various form, stone crypts.
If the nature surrounding us did not blossom all paints of cheerful summer and there would be no bright sun, the type of the Necropolis would be terrifying, more abruptly than any horror film. Such is my impression of the Necropolis, also I think that not one I so felt.
Near the City of the Dead there are partially kept ruins of the Roman theater which was huge for the time and contained more than 10 thousand audience.
It was constructed in the II century of integral stones, and now it restore a little and even use for holding annual international musical festivals at the end of July. Apollo's temple
was the biggest in this city of Hierapolis, now from it there were pathetic ruins. Near it there is an entrance to the temple of Pluto
– god of a vault. Under this temple there is a niche where poisonous air from an underground source arrives. Earlier the entrance was open, but after the tragedy with the German tourists who choked in a niche, it closed, now guides continued repeat and warn all newly arrived tourists about the incident. The column
was nearby stretched
and threefold (northern) arch.
Earlier there was a long street with columns and arches nearly a kilometer long, at the moment we can see only its remains.
There are also other sights of this excursion, but these were the most impressive which for a long time to us were remembered. I can advise all readers of InfoAdvisor.net, planirushchy rest in Turkey, by all means visit these places and to feel as own sense organs originality of each miracle and uniqueness of certificates of history of antiquity.
